At Home

The past few months have brought an interesting change for our farm. Working my full time job at home has been an adjustment but somehow farm life and work have remained the only constant.

Because of the added time at home and during Steve’s busy planting season we were able to tag team chores and calving duties using my work breaks. Many coworkers have heard our cows or asked “Are you in the barn”… Of course I was! How grateful I am to continue to work and enjoy the farm at the same time.

I’d like to say the house has been spotless, the yard is neat and the barn is always clean but there is never a shortage of work to do. A well kept house and yard are nice but what is really important? I am sure a lot of us are thinking about that lately.

What I have taken away from the last few months is that mental health and perspective on what really is important and eternal need to rise to and always be at the top of our family’s priority list.

Loving our neighbor, staying connected with family, snuggling our daughter, shutting off the news, shutting off work, holding onto and seeking the truth, getting outside, getting dirt under our nails, reaching out to friends are just a few of the things that keep us pointed in the right direction.
