Grow, Baby, Grow!

Hay

Tonight Miss M., Willow and I took a walk down our gravel road, making a pit stop at our alfalfa grass field. From the road it seems like a slow start to the spring growth of our first crop of hay.

It is funny how your perspective can alter reality!

The field has a great start and the stand of alfalfa & grass is thick with no evidence of winter-kill. We are grateful to know that our first cutting from this field will be plentiful. Weather pending we will get it cut and baled in good shape when the time comes. Living in Minnesota we rely on our 3-4 cuttings of hay during the summer to feed our cattle throughout the winter and early spring.

So…. GROW, BABY, GROW!

PS. Miss M., please stay little.
