Spring Calves Keep Coming

Even though the planting season has begun, calves keep arriving. Miss M. and I have been promoted to the primary caretakers of our calves while Steve is planting. We have been blessed with a child that is in love with cattle, cats and anything to do with the outdoors. Anyone that knows Miss M. knows when you say O-U-T-S-I-D-E that you have to be ready to walk out the door after she is finished shouting "Yeaaaaaahh” and dancing in place. This makes getting chores done and checking cows a joy! We put our chore clothes and pink rubber boots on and we are set for the tasks ahead. We check our expecting cows for signs of labor approaching, add to their bedding and do a health check on all of our calves. In our book “chores” are not really a chore with Miss M. by our side.
